Billing

• Mailed out the 24th of the month and are due on the 15th of the following month. 
• If payment not received by the 15th, a friendly reminder notice will be mailed to you.
• 10 days after the date of the reminder notice, you will receive a door hanger and charged an extra $20 which will be on the following months bill
• We understand there may be extenuating circumstances that occur from time to time.  Please contact us before you receive door hanger to help save the extra costs

After Hours Emergency

To report a water leak or power outage after 4:30 pm Weekdays or on weekends/holidays, Please call the Sherriff's Office at 515-462-3575. 

The Electric and Water Utilities of the City of Winterset are governed by a three-member Board of Trustees serving 6-year terms, appointed by the Mayor and approved by the City Council. Meetings are held monthly and the public is encouraged to attend.
