Water Service

Water is provided to residents and business in Winterset by Winterset Municipal Utilities. In order to start your service, you must call the City of Winterset at 515-462-1422. 

Electric Service

Electric is provided to residents and business in Winterset by Winterset Municipal Utilities. In order to start your service, you must call the City of Winterset at 515-462-1422. 

Residential Garbage and Recycling

Garbage and Recycling services are provided by Waste Management. Payment for regular garbage and recycling collection is sent via the monthly utility bill from the City of Winterset. In order to start your service, you must call the City of Winterset s at 515-462-1422.

Waste Management will pick up one bulk garbage item per week, however you must contact Waste Management directly at wm.com 

Billing

  • Mailed out the 24th of the month and are due on the 15th of the following month. 
  • If payment not received by the 15th, a reminder notice will be mailed to you.
  • 10 days after the date of the reminder notice, you will receive a door hanger and charged an extra $20 which will be on the following months bill
  • We understand there may be extenuating circumstances that occur from time to time.  Please contact us before you receive door hanger to help save the extra costs

How to Pay

  • Online Payments are available through the Front Desk Payment Portal.
  • Paid in person at City Hall
  • Paid by mail
  • Drop - off mailbox located in front of City Hall ( Please no Cash)
